SCHOOL VISITS: PreK - 5
Bring literature to life by inviting nationally recognized author Jennifer Ward to your school, library or Family Literacy Night. Jennifer's lively, engaging sessions include visuals, music and puppets and prove inspiring for all ages. Jennifer shares the fun and challenges of creating with words - and how the world outside often plants the seed where many of her stories take root. Students leave sessions with smiles on their faces and an eagerness to open books and embark on their own writing journeys.

JEN MENTORS KIDS AT ST. MICHAEL'S
My 2019 Authors for Earth Day visit took place at St. Michael's school in Tucson, AZ on April 1st, where I visited with all students in grades Kindergarten to 3rd grade.
Students selected the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection (by a landslide) as their winning non-profit choice. It is obvious they feel a passion for this beautiful place on earth they call home—the Sonoran Desert—and that they understand how important it is to protect such a unique habitat that serves as home to a variety of amazing wildlife.
In addition to learning about bird behaviors and discussing wildlife and my books, students also planted seeds native to the Sonoran Desert and created "nest-helper balls" for birds—wire orbs filled with all-natural materials gathered from the desert that birds may utilize when gathering materials for nest building.
We had a great and memorable time!
